This is the initial inspection of the site.  This involves the surveyor looking for features which bats might favour, any indication of bat activity, and detailing the surroundings of the site to put the whole project into context for the authorities.

This stage dictates the level of work required at the dusk survey stage to prove whether the site is, or isn't being used by bats.

This stage can be carried out at any time of year

Here the surveyor, and assistant if required, will stand outside the structure under investigation.  The dusk and dawn surveys are the element which proves conclusively that there are, or are not any bats using the structure.

All dusk surveys must be undertaken between May and September

Whether bats are found or not a report will be required.  Our reports follow the industry’s standard, and will be delivered within 7 days of completion of field survey work

Method statements are required when works will disturb bats and/or their roosts.
